What Inspires Me to Write

Ever since my mother made us do Creative Writing assignments each day after school, it has become part of my life to write. It helped instill a daily luxury of writing a fun story or just writing a email to a friend.

Mom had this basket full of pictures that she cut out of magazines and we blindly choose one then write 250 words on it. Sometimes it was hard to come ideas, but sometimes it wasn’t.

As I gotten older and seen the world and its various things, I realized: ”Our entertainment industry stinks!” Seriously, if you think about it , you rarely see a show that is rated G or a movie that doesn’t at least have some type of swearing.

I think it’s sad that my generation has to be reduced to watching Hannah Montana and High School Musical.

Now, I’m not saying that ALL entertainment is bad, I’m just saying you have to dig deeper now then you ever have before.

I can’t even read a book without having swearing or something objective in it.

So what do I plan to do?

Make appropriate movies for cats, old people, and families can watch TOGETHOR without any red faces in the room.

Write books for teens that aren’t depressing and without Gothic vampires that eat your heart out.

And purse what God has planned for me in the best way that I can without any fear and purse my motto:

I might be in a wheelchair, but I kick BUTT!!”

Guess what?

I’m sick!!

When I get sick it’s a very drawn out affair filled with complaining and praying to God to help me though this, which He does by putting me though a fire to help me get stronger.

Every one of my friends has gotten sick, it’s time for me.

“Come on down, Bee your the next contestant on Sick is Not Right!!”

You’re in pretty good shape for the shape you are in.

Typewriters

As I type the final scenes of my screenplay, I think of these things:

This is going to be epic.
People, I’m going rock your socks off.

I hope Roger Ebert gives me a thumbs up.

I wish this thing would enter when I tell it to.

I wish I could update PHP.

Alright this blog post is annoying me very much, so I shall bid you a goodnight,

Ah, my enter just worked, well lookie there.

Good enter. *petting my enter, just kidding, that’s creepy.*

Typewriters are easier.

Helpful Hearts Update, Umag, and 200 cards

Hey guys!!

I just realized that my article for the UMagazine is coming out tomorrow and I haven’t updated you guys on the happenings of HH, so allow me to get on a soap box and update you.

A few weeks ago, the Bend Bulletin contacted my Dad and asked if it would be okay if a reporter interviewed me for their five-year anniversary issue. I have been honored with the title of one of the five women to rock Central Oregon!!

I am very humbled to be along 4 other women who rock. I don’t know who they are, but I am positive that they will change the world in unbelievable fashions.

The article will come out tomorrow, November 5th.

Don’t worry if you don’t live in the area, I present you with the golden ticket: http://www.bendbulletin.com/apps/pbcs.dll/cce?Profile=1208&Site=BB&Module=5&category=PUBLICATIONS&count=99&Class=30&publist=sp

Ok, then there’s Helpful Hearts and 128 cards in 2 two days:
We are in the process of two big projects:

1.  We are fundraising for COVO for a new awning on their medical van by drawing cards. The money from those cards will go toward the awning. Right now we have 200 hand drawn cards that will be on sale on for Veteran’s day. This fundraiser is very near and dear to us because instead of photocopying them and risking our trademark product, we did each one by hand and in the course of two days, we drew 128 cards (we already had 70 made prior.)

2. We are also fundraising for COVO so that they can get new computers. They really need them. Like, it’s not even funny how bad they need them. Any computer nerd would side with us. It’s 2011 and they are running on Windows XP and Office 2003, not ok.

Ok, my updating is done!

Upstairs

Upstairs at the library scares me.

It is is the too quiet place where the ladies with white hair and glasses stare at you.

It is the place of teen books with vampire fangs and book covers that make no sense.

So when Maddie came up to me and said: “Bee, would you come up with me?” I was the good sister and said “Sure!”

We took the elevator up and there we were.

A  silence was up there, “Be quiet, or you will have your card taken away!”

Now, I really don’t like teen books. Out of the few I checked out, I only like some.

Here’s why:

  1. I don’t like how the main characters always are depressed.
  2. I don’t like how just because were teens the authors think its okay to put every swear word or grownup topics in there books.

It makes me sad to read these books cus maybe some of the teens are actually experiencing this stuff.

But Maddie just found a list of Teen Christian books on the library website!!

YAY!!
